Sergiy Derevyanchenko (Ukrainian: Sergiy Derevyanchenko, October 31, 1985, Theodosia, Ukrainian SSR) – Ukrainian professional boxer, performing in the middle weight class. Bronze medalist of the World Cup 2007, one of the best boxers in the history of the World Series of amateur boxing.
Sergiy father was involved in boxing, and from early childhood he instilled in his son a love for boxing. At the age of 10, Sergiy began boxing in his hometown, Theodosia. At the age of 11 he took the second place in the children’s championship of Ukraine. In 2000, he won first place in the children’s championship of Ukraine.
In 2001, at the European Cadet Championship in Liverpool, at the age of 15, he won first place. In 2002, he again won the European Championship among youths, held in Lviv. In 2003, in a similar championship, took third place.
In 2005, 2007-2010 champion of Ukraine.
In 2005, he participated in the World Team Cup in Moscow. Member of the World Cup in China. Member of the 2005 World Cup, lost in the first round to Cuban, Erislandy Lara.
In 2007, the bronze medalist at the World Championships in Chicago, lost in the semifinals to the Russian, Matvey Korobov. In 2008, the participant of the Olympiad in China, Beijing. He made his debut in the professional ring in July 2014 in the middle weight category, under the guardianship of the American promoter, Lou DiBella.
Sergiy had two successful victorious fights, and in October 2014 he signed a promotional contract with Al Haimon.
After four victories, Derevyanchenko on April 11, 2015, met with Mexican Alan Kamp, defeating him with a knockout in the 4th round. And on August 7, Derevyanchenko won on points a former contender for the world title, an American, Alvin Ayala.
July 21, 2016 Derevyanchenko met with former world middleweight champion 42-year-old Australian Sam Soliman (44-13). Derevyanchenko seized a clear advantage from the very beginning of the fight, sent his opponent to the ring three times and as a result won an early victory by technical knockout in the second round.
